Our Packages
Our training packages are suited to the needs of our students, as each candidate may have particular skills or areas of knowledge they wish to improve in the lead-up to their medical interviews. This is particularly pertinent to variability amongst medical school applications, as some universities value specific qualities or areas of knowledge/skills in medical students over others (e.g. social justice and rural/remote healthcare). Even GEMSAS consortium medical schools will have drastically different interview topics, despite using the 1 interview result for the pooled admission process.
The nature of each student’s training package is determined by the teaching team’s conversation with the student: ensuring a training package is tailor-made for the student to address their needs and is targeted towards their interview at a designated university. Upon first contact, the teaching team will discuss this with the student.
Our usual packages involve focus-skills practicals, general & university-specific mock interviews, general interview workshops and online pre-reading/self-study material for students to complete in between classes. Here a description of each:
✏️ Focus-skills practicals (FSPs) ✏ Interview questions/stations are discussed thoroughly - allowing students to develop a model response each question commonly asked in medical interviews. Concepts relating to the topic addressed by the question/station is discussed as part of developing a thorough, model response.
✏️ Mock Interviews (Multi-panel or MMI) ✏ Medical interviews are simulated for students, including time conditions. Students respond to interview questions/stations and receive feedback for their responses. Rather than a thorough discussion as in FSPs, students are left with detailed feedback regarding their responses during the mock and will use their feedback to generate a model response in their own time.
✏️ General-skills workshop (GSW) ✏ Our only teaching service that is offered in a group setting, students are placed in classes and taught about the do’s and don’ts of medical school interviews. Specific techniques and concepts are taught in a limited capacity, as they are better taught in a 1-on-1 setting as per the aforementioned teaching modalities.
✏️ Pre-readings ✏ Resources that include peer-reviewed literature, lecture material, book chapters, guidelines and published works of clinicians: all providing an evidence-based foundation for teaching covered throughout our approach to your interview coaching.
Guarantees with our packages - all subject to terms & conditions as described on our website.
Price match guarantee: we already offer fair and reasonable pricing of our training packages and services but are willing to negotiate prices further to match other providers if the service quoted is comparable with our own (t&cs apply).
Referral discount: get a friend to sign up for one of our training packages and you will both be eligible for a discount off of your respective, independent training packages (t&cs apply).
Interview offer guarantee: secure your training package earlier in the year and begin your own independent study with our learning resources, prior to interview offers. If you do not receive an interview offer and have not attended a focused-skills practical or mock interview session, we will refund your payment for the relevant training package or provide a pro-rata refund for the remaining unused portions. Please note - the refund/pro-rata refund offered here is for purchased, unused products or services only: once a practical or mock interview is attended, the product/service is considered used and cannot be refunded. We recommend students book and attend their practicals or mocks after they have confirmed their interview offers - as this guarantee cannot be invoked to receive a refund for attended mocks or practicals: only for unused, allocated sessions with the teaching team (t&cs apply).
Continued support guarantee: no provider can guarantee admission into a medical program. However, we are so confident in the effectiveness of our training packages that we will offer you a complimentary mock interview with us should you have to complete another round of interviews next year. We also offer a substantial discount on a training package in the same year as your complimentary mock interview should you return to us for help. Please note that factors other than your interview performance may be related to the outcome of your medical program applications: GPA/WAM, GAMSAT/UCAT/CASPer and/or portfolio scores are beyond our influence as interview tutors (t&cs apply).
As the needs of each student varies, we do not offer set prices like other interview tutoring businesses. We tailor our packages to our students, whilst negotiating a mutually fair and reasonable cost to our services. Reach out to discuss your appropriate training package with an expert!
